Q
I heard about BodyArt through a client of mine. She has
the
BodyArt Cookbook and had lent it to me. I like the
common sense, and "innovative" approach. I
am a personal trainer and Pilates instructor, and hold
certifications with ACE & Stott. I also own a one
on one pilates studio.
Do you think the
Online 8-week Power Yoga Fusion
Course would be of
benefit to me? I always
like to learn new ideas and incorporate different
techniques into a program, but I just want to be sure
that I won't be repeating a lot that I've already
learned.
A The
8-week online PYF course is progressive and layered with
a web of integration from various training modalities
including, but not exclusive to, Pilates and Personal
Training. It’s roots are in Power Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga
with influences from Martial Arts and Dance. Although
some of the exercises may be familiar, Tanya’s original
routines, style and delivery often provides a new
perspective on the traditional.
During the foundational phases 1-3, you may recognize
familiar exercises and principles influenced from Joseph
Pilates and Stott method as well as Russian Military
Training and Power Lifting. Phases 4-7 feel more like
Power Yoga or modified modern Ashtanga Yoga.
Trainers, coaches and studio owners really enjoy Power
Yoga Fusion and BodyArt courses because of it’s
refreshing perspective, creative approach, attention to
sustainability, and the unusually broad understanding of
the transformation process.
After completing the 8-wk online PYF course you will be
layer 1 certified, which means you have been through the
entry level bootcamp and have basic knowledge of the PYF
style. This also qualifies you to study for layer 2, 100
hour PYF teacher (with all it’s perks) to study the
system more deeply and facilitate the PYF 8-wk course.
Q
I am interested in PYF Instructor Training
but I already have certifications in yoga, pilates, personal
training, wholistic nutrition and weight management.
A
I
took a look at the company you certified through and it
seems that for $100, you can do an online course and be
certified as a specialist. I'm not suggesting that you're
not knowledgeable in your areas, but there are many
different styles and standards for certification - it all
depends on your purpose for wanting to be 'certified'. If
it's just for the purpose of having a badge, PYF may not be
your best choice.
PFY Instructor Training may be your best choice if you
genuinely want to:
♦ learn something inside-out and upside down,
♦ develop the skills to adapt routines for any body,
♦ experience freedom of expression within
structure/discipline,
♦ learn micro-strength techniques and out-of-the-box
nutrition strategies to enhance all your training and
current certifications,
♦ and gain insights on how to encourage people to believe in
themselves.
Students that have years of
practice/certification/university/college in body movement
and nutrition have benefited from these courses as much as
weekend warriors ready to take it to the next level. PFY is
the new cutting-edge perspective.
Q
Do I Have To Be 'Super-Fit' To Do Power Yoga Fusion Teacher Training
Certification?
A
Basic body awareness,
health and a willingness to understand is the only
prerequisite. Often the best teachers are not
the super-fit, but those who have traveled the journey,
paid attention, take care of themselves and can relate
to those who are not super-fit (which is usually the
majority of the people you will be sharing this
information with). Also, many students take the
course simply to deepen their own experience with no
intentions to teach classes.
