What is Power Yoga Fusion?

Power Yoga Fusion is a progressive meditative movement system rooted in deep core stability, micro-strength, stamina and flow. It’s layers are designed to decrease imbalances caused by modern lifestyles. Other benefits include increased energy, self-awareness and peace of mind. A sculpted body is just a bonus. "Fusion" means that complementary teaching techniques from pilates, dance, bodybuilding and martial arts are blended throughout. Known as “no cream puff yoga” PYF encourages moment-to-moment authentic edge. This practice is about you, as you are - whatever that may look or feel like.

You can re-pattern yourself to feel and look balanced. Our modern lifestyle causes all sorts of imbalances. In our posture, some muscles are too tight, others are too weak which pulls our skeleton out of natural alignment causing energy drain, chronic pain and other discomforts that keep us from feeling and looking comfortable in our body.

Power Yoga Fusion available in these formats:
Yoga & Nutrition Bootcamps
100 hour Teacher Training Course
Intensive Weekend Workshops
In-Office Executive Sessions
Pro-Athlete Programs

Where did "Power Yoga" come from?

NOTE: clarification of the term Yoga

The term Yoga was originally used to define a massive concept wher
e exercise is only a small fraction of the bigger picture.  Today, the word Yoga is mostly associated with a meditative exercise method.  Yogic exercise (asana) is one branch of one path of Yoga which focuses on body-mind mastery, energy cultivation, and ultimate rest.  >> read more.

1 Traditional Ashtanga   Taught in India, a structured series of athletic heat building poses done in a specific order linked with dance-like flow.  The practice sequence was birthed in the 1930's from an interpretation of Patanjali's (East Indian Sage) ancient Sanskrit notes.  The interpreters: Yoga scholar Sri Tirumala Krishnamacharya (1888–1989) and a young Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Mysore India.
2 American Ashtanga   A traditional Ashtanga practice as taught through American teachers who learned directly from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.
David Williams, Hawaii USA
  and
Norman Allen, Hawaii USA  were the first to learn and master the traditional system in India and bring it to USA.
3 Power Yoga   Modifications to the structured Ashtanga sequence for North American bodies.
Bryan Kest, California USA
 - student of David Williams and original rebel yoga fusion artist who blends the flow of Ashtanga with long-hold heat-building hatha poses.  He coined the term "Power Yoga" at roughly the same time as Norman Allen's student, Beryl Bender Birch New York USA who authored the best-selling book, Power Yoga and Beyond Power Yoga.
